International F.I.C.B. events
 
1- The F.I.C.B. International Congress
 
FICB organizes periodically an International Congress which gives its members an opportunity to meet in a wine region which hosts them. This Congress comprises meetings between the brotherhoods, wine tourism, cultural events open to the public to promote the brotherhoods and exchanges on the traditions and the techniques for vine and wine. The Congress is held at the invitation of one or several brotherhoods, or an association thereof, members of F.I.C.B., which take responsibility for its organization, according to specification defined by FICB.They are usually followed by an optional extension. They are designed to host 200-300 participants.
 
The 2014 Congress, organized by the Conseil des Echansons de France, took place in Reims in the Champagne region (France) from 29 May to 3 June 2014 and gave the opportunity to celebrate FICB's 50th anniversary.
 
The 2016 Congress, organized by the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Vine of America, took place in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys of California from 8 to 12 June, followed by an extension from 12 to 14 June.

O.E.V.E. Makedonia organized the the 50th F.I.C.B. Congress in 2018 in the Republic of Macedonia from 31 May to 3 June 2018 for the Congress centered on the capital city Skopje, followed by an extension from 4 to 6 June in the beautiful Lake Ohrid region.
 
The 2020 Congress was supposed to take place in the Langhe & Roero and Piedmont region of Italy from 3 to 7 June 2020, with an optional extension in Asti Spumante and Torino, organized by the Ordine dei Cavalieri del Tartufo e dei Vini de Alba. Due to the pansdemic, it was eventually cancelled.
 
The 2023 Congress will take place in Portugal (Porto, Vinho Verde and Douro) from 24 to 28 May 2023, with an optional extension in the Lisbon, Carcavalos and Alentejo regions from 28 to 30 May, organized by the Federation of Portuguese Wine Brotherhoods.

2- Other F.I.C.B. international events

The General Assembly aproved in 2017 two new types of F.I.C.B. international events:

  • The “International F.I.C.B. Wine Tasting and Rating Challenge”,  combines wine tasting and rating contests with visits of the host regions and with gastronomy. It is designed for approx. 100 participants. The first edition took place in June 2019 in Helsinki, at the invitation of the Knights of the Vine of Finland. The second edition will take place in Hungary, organized by the Order of the Ladies of Pannonia, from 2 to 5 June 2022 for the Challenge itself in Budapest and its vienyards, followed by an optional extension from 5 to 7 June in the Eger and Tokaj regions.

  • The “F.I.C.B. sponsored wine discovery tours” allowing for the discovery of a wine producing region and designed for a maximum of 50 participants. The  first edition of this type of event should take place in the sedond half of 2023.
