- climate: temperate oceanic, with fresh summers and mild winters, high humidity, making wine growing difficult
- grape varieties: mostly hybrids derived from Sylvaner and Riesling, Johanniter and Solaris
Main wine regions
The Dutch vineyards are essentially located in the provinces of Gueldre and Limburg and comprise some 190 small estates.
